Notes from Daniel

Today's story comes from David Ebuka Akujuobi - a third year (as of Feb 2018) Geochemistry of oil and gas major at Kazan Federal University. He started out taking photos and shooting videos for his church. His initial dream was to be in front of the camera, but fate apparently had other plans for him. Video and photography is not cheap so initially he invested $3000 right now, he says he can’t keep track of how much he has had to put it because as he says, “it’s a continuous process of constant investment”

He started in 2015 with an initial investment of $1500 (camera, MacBook, editing software and courses) and is currently making good money, having major shoots in different cities like Kazan, Moscow, St Petersburg.

With different brands and celebrities too! His journey though hasn’t been without its fair share of difficulties, balancing school and entrepreneurship, dealing with clients, sacrificing fun time with friends but he says when he looks at his bank balance… he thinks to himself “yes, it was all worth it” When we asked him for what advice he would give someone starting out he said, “Patience is key but knowing when to act is the lock” and hopes that makes sense.

We took a look at some of the work David does and its amazing! Its actually pretty cool. You too can check it out! Get to know him better, ask him questions, follow his work, support his hustle.
